Pregnancy

Becoming a Mother, or growing a family, both the most rewarding and powerful thing a woman can do. Its a beautiful time that is also filled with so many day-to-day challenges. Every woman’s journey is unique and different. It is impossible to compare your pregnancy or postpartum journey to another mother’s and if you do, you’ll likely experience feels of jealousy, envy, self-doubt, you know what I mean.

Sometimes our journey to becoming a mother is filled with so much pain that we lose trust with our body and our capacity to make decisions. It is a scary time with so many uncertainties, and things beyond our control, but once you get that positive pregnancy test, or hold that sweet new baby, it all becomes worth it.

Going back to pregnancy and postpartum is unique for everyone, you may be experiencing…

  • drastic weight changes

  • hormonal shifts

  • emotional swings

  • fatigue

  • intolerances

Or even medical conditions such as…

  • high blood pressure

  • gestational diabetes

  • vomiting and nausea

  • swelling

  • allergies and intolerances

  • autoimmune conditions, and more!

You could be someone who tried for months, or years, to become pregnant and now that you are, you want to do everything you can to have a healthy and safe pregnancy. Maybe your goal is to have a natural birth!

If you relate to anything I’ve just mentioned, our dietitians can be your best support and guide during this process.

postpartum

This phase of motherhood is full of highs and lows. You may be choosing to return to work, or leave your job and stay at home full time. This is just one of many choices you have to make postpartum.

Perhaps you experienced a very difficult birth, or have been struggling with lactation and are at the point of wanting to give up. Body image is another challenge many women go through.

Having negative body image impacts how we take care of ourself and even our relationships with our spouse or partner.

If you are postpartum and looking to…

  • rebalance hormones

  • navigate breastfeeding difficulties

  • monitor blood sugars and take preventative measures

  • improve body image or address weight concerns

Our dietitians can provide you with support and confidence from the start of your pregnancy journey through your postpartum journey. There are so many concerns that arise at different times postpartum. Not all concerns will be addressed within the first month, but ongoing goals, skills work, education, and reflection will provide you with all the tools you need to feel confident, energized, happy with yourself and your body!
