Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the most commonly practiced and well-known form of treating depression and anxiety today, as well as many other mental illnesses, including OCD, PTSD, and eating disorders. CBT is based on the belief that our thoughts and interpretations of any given situation will influence our feelings and actions. Because most of us go through life without mindful awareness of our thoughts, they can lead us down some unhelpful roads.
Good news is, if we can change our thoughts, we can find the power to change our feelings and actions for the better! With CBT, you’ll work with a trained therapist to identify the automatic thoughts and assumptions that influence the way you think about yourself, others, and the world around you. You’ll find more flexible, effective ways of thinking that free you to let go of anxiety, self-deprecation, and compulsive behaviors.
