Meet Isabella
(She/Her)
Hi there! My name is Isabella and I specialize in all types of eating disorders from children to adults and also really enjoy working with families. I have worked at residential, PHP and IOP levels of care. Like the other providers at Bamboo Nutrition, my approach when working with clients includes non-diet, health at every size and a food freedom!
Being from St. Louis, MO I attended SLU for my bachelors and masters degree in Dietetics and Nutrition. I have worked in a variety of settings, first starting out as the Director of Nutrition Services for a community school in Illinois, then transitioning to teaching college courses on nutrition. I’ve worked both inpatient and outpatient for a local hospital in STL, then found myself in the wonderful field of eating disorder recovery in Kansas City.
There are a lot of aspects of my job that I highly enjoy, but perhaps some of my favorite are: building rapport and getting to know my clients, providing nutrition education to clients and their families to help them find food freedom and watching my clients become more comfortable around food as they lean into recovery and begin rebuilding trust with their bodies.
I am currently living in St. Louis, therefore I only see clients over video. I do my best to ensure your sessions with me feel comfortable, familiar and I will work closely with the rest of your treatment team from afar. I am in the process of becoming credentialed with United Healthcare, UMR, and BCBS. I am currently in network with Aetna and Cigna. We can provide you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement in the meantime. For more information, please visit our Rates & Insurance page.
Isabella’s Specialties
Isabella has mostly worked with adolescents and families, but through her experience as a professor and working previously in the clinical setting, she has experience with adult care and treatment and enjoys working with all ages. It is less about where the person is in their recovery and more about their willingness to do the work. Isabella enjoys working with someone who is willing to make changes, despite potentially not being entirely ready. Someone who can lean into the process and be uncomfortable making changes, while also being able to transparently name their struggles to receive support around them.
Her warm, compassionate and caring demeanor aids in trust and rapport building. Isabella is a lifelong learner and goes above and beyond to provide her clients with support, meeting them where they are in their recovery journey. She is a strong educator and enjoys working with families who feel lost or perplexed with how to provide support at home. Isabella is tough, but only in the best ways!
Isabella may also offer meal therapy to clients who may need this additional support.
Isabella’s Nutrition Philosophy
Food nourishes us beyond the nutrition it provides. It connects us to the Earth, each other and our culture. Our relationship with food matters.
