Meet Erika
(She/Her)
Hello! My name is Erika and I specialize in eating disorders for all different ages. I am passionate about individualized care and take a non-diet, health at every size and intuitive eating approach to eating disorder recovery!
I have worked in eating disorder recovery/care for the past 5 years working in various settings and roles. I am originally from Connecticut, but made my way across the US to complete my undergraduate studies at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science. Afterwards, I attended the Department of State Hospitals, Napa for my Dietetic Internship.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to the beach and spending time with loved ones. My goal is to make sure my client's feel validated, supported and safe while providing applicable nutrition education as they embark on their recovery journey.
Unfortunately I am still living in California, therefore I only see clients over video. I have found this does not disrupt treatment progress and often my clients appreciate being in their own space and this can positively impact their experience! I am currently in network with United Healthcare, UMR, Aetna, and Cigna. If your insurance is not one that I accept, we can provide you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement. Erika’s Specialties
Erika has found her calling when it comes to helping individuals recover from their eating disorder. She has a bubbly, adventurous and kind personality which helps her clients connect with her and feel as if they are in a room together and not just meeting across the screen.
Erika has worked at all levels of eating disorder care and has led groups in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including meal support. She is a wealth of knowledge and is extremely comfortable navigating family sessions, and meeting the client where they are while gently offering guidance, recommendations and support.
Erika often works with clients who have ARFID or rumination disorder as well. These are two types of eating disorders that require more specialized training. Erika may also offer meal therapy to clients who may need this additional support.
Erika’s Nutrition Philosophy
Food & nutrition should be fun, inclusive, and nourishing! I believe that concepts such as "food neutrality" and "all foods fit" can help make a plate be delicious, balanced and satisfying. You don't have to pick between nutritious & delicious - you can have it all (and without guilt)!
Testimonials
Erika is a sweet and kind person and upbeat and friendly. She has a very pleasant vibe. I have only interacted with her through zoom, but this still transcends through video.
