Therapy Services

Our story

Bamboo Nutrition began as only a dietitian group practice where the only services we provided were pertaining to nutrition.

Our dietitians are very skilled in nutrition counseling and often treat individuals with eating disorders, individuals who have a complex relationship with food, trauma, anxiety, social struggles, and more. Mental health plays a big part in how we care for ourselves and how we nourish our bodies.

In 2023 Bamboo Nutrition gained their first therapist! Immediately our providers and clients noticed an improvement in their care and treatment. With both disciplines under the same roof, providers were giving better care due to improved communication and treatment planning, and our clients felt much more supported and cared for (not to mention the convenience!).

And thus became Bamboo Nutrition & Therapy, Providers Who Care.

Our specialties

Our therapists are here to help you with your mental health struggles and challenges.

In addition, it is our therapists’ specialty to bring up food and address the challenges and barriers, then strategize and support you through them. If you have a dietitian on your team, our therapists work closely with them and are well seasoned in how to align treatment plans and goals.

Our therapists take a trauma-informed approach and understand more often than not, individuals are struggling with more than one symptom or disorder. We will provide holistic and compassionate care so you feel entirely supported in your therapy journey.

Eating Disorders

Our therapists work with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Rumination Disorder, OSFED (Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder), Diabetes + Eating Disorder (Diabulimia), ARFID, Orthorexia, and EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified)

Disordered Eating

Many individuals do not have a diagnosed eating disorder, but realize that their relationship with food is at such a crippling point that they know they need help. Our therapists know the questions to ask, the common struggles and challenges, and how to help you navigate when food begins to feel too overwhelming and frustrating. “Disordered Eating” is just a word for when eating doesn’t feel normal, or feels difficult enough that it is impacting your life in multiple ways (socially, relationships, work, sleep, physical health, etc).

Body Image

Body Image distress can be a part of an eating disorder, and be a stand alone challenge you are faced with every day that may increase anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or low confidence. Feelings of judgment and shame around body appearance, size or shape are common challenges individuals with body image concerns face every day. It can be hard to work on body image, and a slow process for many, but it will be one of the most rewarding things you do to care for yourself. Specialized therapy for body image concerns can help you reclaim a trusting and compassionate relationship with your body.

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety could look like suffering from panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, unrelenting worries, or an incapacitating phobia. Therapy can help relieve anxiety and fear through uncovering the underlying causes, learning how to relax and look at situations in a new, less frightening way. Our therapists will help you develop better coping and problem-solving skills.

Depressive Disorders

Perhaps your are struggling with ongoing feelings of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness. Maybe you’ve been experiencing angry outbursts or increased irritability. Have you lost interest or pleasure in normal activities, or are you struggling with sleep? Our therapists will help uncover the underlying causes of your depression and work with you in a compassionate and encouraging way to help restore happiness, passion and health.

Trauma + PTSD

Healing from a traumatic event or PTSD requires safety, time and intention. Our therapists are trauma-informed and will work with you to build a strong relationship based on compassion and respect, and help you build strength before processing your trauma together.
